Brightness & Shadows

NAVIGATION:  Settings (gear icon), Display, Brightness & Shadows.

Depending on the camera location, there may be times of the day (especially in late fall through early spring) when the picture is a combination of very bright sun light in some areas and very dark shadows in other areas.  At these times, it can be difficult to see details in the dark shadow areas.   Adjusting the brightness for the entire image causes the bright areas to become too bright causing you to lose detail in the bright areas.

This is when the Brightness & Shadows settings are very helpful.
Each camera in the Duo has separate Brightness & Shadows settings for:

Color Day Mode

Navigate to the Settings page for your camera and click Display, then click Brightness & Shadows.

The default setting is "Auto".  Turn off Auto to reveal the manual adjustments for Brightness and Shadows.
I have not seen any reason to change the Brightness setting from the default  which is middle/50%.
I have had good results setting the Shadows to max/100%.

Black and White

Navigate to the Settings page for your camera and click Display, then click Brightness & Shadows.

I have not seen any reason to change the setting from the default which is middle/50%.

Color Night Mode

Navigate to the Settings page for your camera and click Display, then click Brightness & Shadows.

The default setting is "Auto".  Turn off Auto to reveal the manual adjustments for Brightness and Shadows.
Depending on how much nighttime lighting your area has, it may be beneficial to reduce the Brightness to about 25% and increase the Shadows to about 70% (see sample screenshot).

Select the tab for Camera 2 and repeat the process.
