Founder & President
Tom Scheifler enjoyed a long and successful career as an independent software contractor. Tom designed, built, and deployed many enterprise-level, bespoke software solutions for industry leading corporations including Monsanto, HP, Boeing, Maritz, Pfizer, and FleishmanHillard.
In 2021, after three years of increased property crime incidents in his home town, St. Louis, MO, coupled with significant decreases in police department staff, Tom created the initial version of AwareNet for use by his neighborhood. After successful testing and implementation for his neighborhood, Tom made AwareNet available to all St. Louis City neighborhoods, at no-profit, and volunteered his time to assist residents with neighborhood security initiatives.
With AwareNet now in use by five different areas in St. Louis, Tom is inspired to expand the benefits of AwareNet throughout St. Louis and beyond.
Director of Operations
Since 2001, Glenn Weikert has owned and operated a company that builds full-stack and mobile software. His clients include the New York Knicks, the New York Rangers, Home Depot, Lucent Solar, who is a partner with Tesla and one of the top installers of only 26 certified companies to install Tesla Solar Roof, and IVI-RMA Global, the world’s leading reproductive medicine group.
Glenn was born and raised in Mechanicsburg, PA. He lived in Philadelphia for 10 years, Los Angeles for 13 years and has been in St Louis raising his daughter since 2022. He worked with dually diagnosed homeless men at the RHD Men’s Homeless Shelter in Philadelphia. He visits children at the St Louis Children’s Hospital every Thursday and volunteers at a Missouri Department of Corrections prison once a month. His step father is a retired police officer from Pennsylvania who served his community for 35 years. All of these experiences give Glenn a unique, compassionate perspective on the sometimes complicated relationship between citizens and police.
Like Tom, Glenn saw a spike in crime in his St Louis neighborhood. There was an attempted abduction, two murders, one car jacking, two car thefts and numerous home and car break ins near his home in beautiful, popular Central West End of St Louis. He applied and was appointed to the seven member, Alderman and Mayor selected Washington Place Special District Board. While trying to develop his own camera system for Washington Place, he was introduced to Tom Scheifler and joined the team. He has dedicated himself to Awarenet because it’s an inspiring, powerful tool that helps communities unite and keep our children and neighborhoods safe.
