Supported Cameras

Below is the current list of cameras that meet the requirements to work with AwareNet.
We do our best to keep this information reliable but it is not guaranteed.

Other camera brands/models will be added to the list as soon as we can test them. To request support for a camera not listed below, tell us the make and model of the camera.

The minimum requirements for a camera are:

  • The ability to identify motion as a person, vehicle or something else.

  • The ability to send an email notification to AwareNet (when a motion recording is captured).
The email must include (1) the camera name (2) type of motion (person, vehicle, other), and (3) the video clip.

If you have a standard outlet available to power a camera, buy the Reolink Duo WiFi . It is suitable for locating on a house or garage up to 35 feet from the street or alley. If you don't need the ultra-wide view of the Duo, consider the RLC-510WA. You will also need a 128GB or 256GB class 10 data card. If you are on a "busy" street, get the 256GB.

If you need a battery-powered camera, buy the Reolink Argus 3 Pro bundled with the matching solar panel. It is suitable for locating adjacent to the street or alley. It is not a good choice for installing at a location that is more than 6 feet from the sidewalk/street. You will also need a 128GB class 10 data card.

If you have a garage on an alley with a typical overhead door, the Reolink RLC-542WA is a good choice to hang from the eaves and power from a standard outlet inside the garage. And it has a security dome to protect the camera from vandals. You will also need a 128GB class 10 data card. If you can install the camera out of reach, the Duo Floodlight may be a great option.

If you want to consider other factors, the summary of Reolink Cameras below is a good place to start.

The Reolink models listed below are compatible with AwareNet.

Reolink Cameras

Amcrest

The Amcrest cameras with AI person & vehicle detection have the ability to send email alerts. However, there is no option to include the video clip with the email. So the cameras do not meet the minimum requirements to work with AwareNet.

Blink

Unfortunately, Blink cameras do not meet the minimum requirements to work with AwareNet because they cannot send an email to AwareNet when the camera senses motion.

Nest

The Nest Outdoor camera can send an email when the camera senses motion. However, the only option is to send the email to the email account the camera is registered to. Depending on what email account the camera is registered to, it might be possible to configure that account to automatically forward the alerts to AwareNet. If you have a Nest Outdoor camera and would like to try this, please contact us.

Ring

Unfortunately, Ring cameras do not meet the minimum requirements to work with AwareNet because they cannot send an email to AwareNet when the camera senses motion.

SimpliSafe

The SimpliSafe camera with person detection has the ability to send email alerts. However, there is no option to include the video clip with the email. So the camera does not meet the minimum requirements to work with AwareNet.

Wyze

Unfortunately, Wyze cameras do not meet the minimum requirements to work with AwareNet because they cannot send an email to AwareNet when the camera senses motion.
