By default, most email services now require use of "OAuth 2.0" to access the email account from a third-party application (e.g. the email app on your smartphone).
However, apps that don't support OAuth can use an alternative called "application password", which means you are creating a special password for just one specific app (e.g. a security camera app).
Below is the best information I have for other email services. Let us know if you find better info and I will update this page.
Charter - I could not find any info for creating app passwords. It may let you use your regular email password instead of creating an app password.
HotMail - It was deprecated by Microsoft years ago and I could not find any info for creating app passwords. It may let you use your regular email password instead of creating an app password.
MSN - step-by-step instructions.
SBCGlobal - As best I can tell, the steps for creating an app password (aka secure key) are the same as AT&T. If not, just try using your regular password.
Swbell - As best I can tell, the steps for creating an app password (aka secure key) are the same as AT&T. If not, just try using your regular password.
